PROCUREMENT OF RAW MATERIALS

We need different grades of steel casting, stainless steel round bars, forging, hardware (nuts and bolts), gaskets, paints, and packing materials for the Manufacturing of Industrial Valves process. All raw materials are purchased from approved suppliers.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Prior to being infused into the manufacturing process, all raw materials are examined by our internal quality assurance department. We only Manufacturing High Quality Industrial Valves using High Quality Industrial Valves Raw Materials. Steel castings and rods, for instance, are checked before being posted to stores with a “INWARD PASSED” sign and stamp; if they are rejected, they are sent back to the supplier with a G.I.R. note.

MACHINING

Through material requisition slips, the raw materials are given to the machine shop for processing. Valve body, bonnet, valve seat, spindles, and other components are machined on a centre lathe machine before being checked with vernier callipers or micrometres.

IN-PROCESS TESTING

The valve body and bonet are sent to the testing yard for hydrostatic testing if it is determined that all dimensions and visual inspections are satisfactory, and the other components are sent to the fitting and assembling department. All of the bodies and bonnets are tested using either hand-operated pumps or motorised hydrostatic pumps. According to current international standards, a pressure test is conducted. According to the theory, there shouldn’t be any leaks or drops of testing or fluid from any part of the body or bonnet when they are under pressure. It is rejected and returned to the foundries if any leakage is discovered.

ASSEMBLY

When the body and bonnet pass hydrostatic testing, they are sent to the fitting shop for assembly. Care must be taken to avoid scratching the machine’s surfaces. The Quality Assurance Department drills the body and bonnets in the fitting shop using jigs and fixtures to ensure uniformity and interchangeability before passing or returning them.

LAPPING

Lapping of the seats, plugs, and other components can take place either before or after fitting, depending on the situation.

TESTING

The newly assembled valve is put through another hydrostatic test after assembly. It is sent to the finishing department if no leakage is noticed in accordance with the applicable standards.

FINISHING/PAINTING

For produced better and smooth finishing, the valve body surface is debarred and finished here using sanders and flexible shaft grinders. Selected colours for various types of valves are sprayed twice for a better surface appearance after a single coat of corrosion-resistant primer (red oxide) has been applied. If any uneven surfaces are found, high temperature putty is then used.
It should be noted that valves created for IBR approval are not painted at the beginning of the process. The concerned inspectors present them for inspection unpainted, but in a fully assembled state. After inspection, the assigned IBR number is punched, and only then is painting completed.

FINAL INSPECTION

Our Quality Assurance Department/Third Party Inspection Agency performs the final inspection after painting, and their duty is to correlate and verify all records pertaining to the valve in question. Co-relation of all serial numbers, in-process quality checks, a valve serial number, and transmission to the packing department are all given special attention. It should be noted that valves created for IBR approval are not painted at the beginning of the process.
